How to Prove the Archimedean Principle
Description
A detailed tutorial on how to prove the Archimedean Principle. Step by step tutorial including several examples of the Archimedean Principle for reference.
Overview
The Archimedean Principle is a fact about natural numbers that can be proved in several different ways. It states that for all natural numbers a and b, there exists a natural number s such that a is less than sb. It cannot be fully proved without using the Principle of Mathematical Induction. A generalized version of this must be used to prove that the statement is true for all possible values of a and b.
