Description

This video explains what a Least Common Multiple is and how to find it. One example problem is given and steps are laid out in an organized manner.

Overview

The Least Common Multiple, or the LCM, is the lowest shared number out of multiples of 2 or more numbers. A multiple is a number that you have found by continously adding the original number to itself. For instance, multiples of 2: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10… There is an endless list of multiples for any number, but most people will only write down the first 5 numbers and then find more later if they need to. When you are given 2 or more numbers and are told to find the LCM, the first thing you do is find some of the multiples for all the numbers. Continue finding them until you get your first matching set. This number is your LCM.
