Overview
A semicolon ( ; ) is a conventional punctuation mark with several uses, mainly for pauses in sentences and breaks in lists, or to indicate a pause longer than that of a comma and shorter than that of a full stop.
Example: He wondered what to do. He couldn’t go back; he couldn’t borrow money.
