Astronomy
Astronomy is the scientific study of celestial objects (planets, stars, comets, galaxies, etc.) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth’s atmosphere (such as cosmic radiation). Astronomy is concerned with the evolution, chemistry, physics, meteorology, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the development and formation of the universe.
Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. There are records of ancient people practicing astronomy as early as 1000 BC. It became a modern science with the invention of the telescope. This is one of the few fields that amateurs play a major role.
