How to Graph and Solve Inequalities
Description
A detailed tutorial on the solving of Solving Inequalities. Step by step tutorial including several examples of how to solve Solving Inequalities for reference.
Overview
Inequalities are an expression of the relative size or order of two objects. Solving inequalities is much the same as solving an equation in algebra except in the case of dividing by a negative number. When dividing by a negative number, the inequality flips to the other direction.
When graphing inequalities, there is always a threshold that the graph either includes or excludes and then some shaded region. On a number line, an open circle should be used if the graph excludes the threshold while a closed circle should be uses if the graph includes the number.
