An In-Depth Look at the Associative Property
Description
This video illustrates how to use the associative property in both addition and multiplication. The content is displayed in a neat and organized way and is easy to understand. This video provide many examples.
Overview
The associative property is one of the three addition properties. This property can also be used in multiplication. The associative property states the following:
(a + b) + c = a + (b + c) and also (x * y) * z = x * (y * z)
Unlike the distributive property, the goal of this preoperty is to regroup, not to simplify. There is no reverse to this property.
